School Trips
In a school trip, students and teachers alike are exposed to different places, different people, different cultures or a different country altogether. School trips abroad are among the best ways to help pupils engage with their subjects in an unusual environment and think about different aspects of their learning.
Educational trips like these are done to help students learn more about their countries and other countries as well. They could provide better understanding as the students would be able to make a connection between a place, time, or even person in history and something that they have seen in a field trip. It is possible to design the tour to focus on a single subject – art, history and science are all subjects that can really come alive outside the classroom – but if you are thinking about taking away under-16s, you may also wish to consider an itinerary that involves a range of study areas.
One thing you may overlook during the planning of a tour is having fun. You can’t expect children to spend all their time learning, so make sure you include some physical activity and relaxed events in the itinerary.
It is very often that school trips are done for fun too. Instead of focusing on the learning and memorizing part of a field trip, trip organizers come up with games and such that could help students memorize and remember the facts better. Entertainment and fun are nice substitutes to learning and education, but a school trip could mix them well enough that most student cannot even differentiate fun and learning in a field trip.
You and your students may be dreaming of jetting off to New York, but if the budget simply isn’t there, there is always a cheaper and equally rewarding European equivalent. Europe is not to be underestimated for new inspiring places, and a good tour organizer can help you organise fantastic experiences closer to home for less money.
